On The Mountain

Winter Park although interconnected has two bases Winter Park and Mary Jane.

Beginner/First Timer terrain head to the Winter Park base area.Discovery Park has 26 acres of gentle, learning terrain served by a double, a triple and a high-speed quad. Another 5 acres of beginner/teaching terrain can be found next to the Gemini Lift. Two moving carpets and one surface lift allow you to practice before heading to the chair lifts.

Intermediate- Sunnyside Lift on Mary Jane is great for intermediate skiers and boarders try Sleeper one of Winter Park's "blue-black" designated runs that help intermediates improve to advanced.Parsenn bowl has stunning views and the upper part allows for some great skiing/boarding above the tree line. Being exposed can allow for it to become windswept but after a storm provides some amazing terrain.

Advanced/Expert abilities if you like bumps Mary Jane is where you'll find the famous bumps and super-steepsTry the chutes accessible only through controlled gates: Hole in the Wall, Awe Chute, Baldy's Chute, Jeff's Chute and Runaway,all reached by the Challenger, Sunnyside, High Lonesome or Summit Express chairlifts. For advanced skiers, the most popular lift on the Winter Park side is the Zephyr Express. It provides access to Mary Jane (via Outhouse).



Ski and Board School

Winter Park's Ski & Ride School is considered one of the best skier and rider improvement centers in the country. With a class for everyone! Beginner classes will have you tearing down the mountain in no time. Not a beginner? Not a problem! There are classes that teach skills from ripping' the bumps to freestyle. Classes are available for all ages and abilities.



The Village

The Winter Park village is small but friendly, offering more cozy aprs-ski locales and a good variety of restaurants. The town of Winter Park is located a few miles from the Village at Winter Park with Restaurants and Shops spread from the base of Winter Park Mountain, through out downtown town of Winter Park and two miles further down the valley in the town of Fraser.

Free public transportation between the resort and the towns of Winter Park and Fraser.



Attractions and Activities

Try your climbing skills at The Base Camp 9000 Indoor Climbing Wall a 750 square-foot, state-of-the-art apparatus located in the base area's West Portal Station building, Hop on the Zephyr Express Chairlift after 11am daily and enjoy a scenic ride up to The Lodge at Sunspot for lunch. A 12-15 minute Zephyr Express chairlift ride will whisk you from the base area altitude of 9,000' elevation to the breathtaking Sunspot Summit at 10,700', or enjoy a scenic snowcat tour, dog sledding, snowmobiling or for those romantic evenings a sleigh ride.



Kids Night Out

Thursday evenings, 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm - starting 15 December 2011
Kids Ski & Ride School, West Portal Station
Kids, enjoy a night out in Winter Park! Parents take advantage of evening childcare and enjoy our new shops and restaurants in the Village at Winter Park. "Kids Night Out" is available for children ages 4 to 12 and our program is loaded with fun indoor activities and includes dinner and s'mores by the fire. Activities include crafts, games, movies and more.
This is a free childcare service offered to parents on the conditions that US$30 per child is spent at any commercial outlet in The Village at Winter Park during the hours that your children are in the program. Original receipts are required to verify the expenditure. If less than US$30 per child is spent, parents will be charged the difference.
Reserve your child's space by 3pm day-of, callinng 800 729 7907. Enrolment is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Dates and times subject to change. Parents must pick up their children by 8.30 pm or full amount will be charged for Club Discovery.



Shopping

Indian art, Southwestern jewelry, Western attire, paintings and prints by local artists, books on local lore and history, a wide assortment of gifts and Colorado souvenirs. Stop by gourmet specialty shops with unique Colorado products; find the perfect Winter Park t-shirt.



Dining

The Back Bowl Soup Company offers a daily selection of hommade soups and sandwiches as well as cold beer and wine. Located in the yellow house.
Cheeky Monk, a Belgian beer cafe in the Village.
Doc's Roadhouse offers a kid-friendly menu, and a great place for the entire family. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the base of the Zephyr Express Lift.
Five Mountain Tavern offers family-friendly dining at the top of the Village Cabriolet.
Goody's serves authentic French creps and all natural Boulder Ice Cream and is offers a 50" TV showing ski and snowboard movies, ski and snowboard magazines and free WiFi.
Lime, an American Cantina is your source for great tacos and margaritas. Late night dancing and entertainment every Friday and Saturday night.
For a coffee fix, visit Starbucks on the Zephyr Mountain Ldoge promenade.
Pizza Pedal'R is the newest addition to the Village, and serves pizza by the pie or slice.



Nightlife

Straight off the slopes head to the deck at Derailer for apres ski or Docs Roadhouse is a tavern/restaurant on the ground level of Zephyr Mountain Lodge at the base of the slopes, with two outdoor decks for drinks and dining on sunny days. The Shed in downtown Winter Park, has happy hour deals on margaritas and appetizers, The Pub is a popular locals hangout.

For those wanting to still enjoy the apres ski experience but in quieter surroundings there is Tipper's Tavern in the Vintage Hotel or Eichler's.
