The atmosphere in Winter Park is very easy going with most of the accommodation tucked away off the highway in the woodlands around the town. Recent developments of Fraser Crossing and Founders Pointe have now seen condominiums built at The Village at Winter Park Resort giving perfect slope side access along with the Zephyr Mountain Lodge with its ski in ski out location, shops and restaurants on the lower floor.The layout of Winter Park has two separate bases being Winter Park Village and Mary Jane with the town located a few miles down the road.

The town still has a raw,friendly local feel to it reminiscent of the old rail way days.In the 1900’s when Moffat Tunnel was opened this allowed hardy skiers to take the train and stay in old shacks that were built for the railroad crews. Today the tooting of the train rings out through the town of Winter Park and the Snow Train delivers eager skiers and boarders to the slopes.
