Winter Park is the closest Resort to Denver International Airport just 137 kilometres (67 miles) northwest of Denver International Airport, a 90 minute to 2 hour drive away - a popular Resort for Denverites as it is so close to Denver.

The atmosphere in Winter Park is very easy going with most of the accommodation tucked away off the highway in the woodlands around the town. Recent developments of Fraser Crossing and Founders Pointe have now seen condominiums built at The Village at Winter Park Resort giving perfect slope side access along with the Zephyr Mountain Lodge with its ski in ski out location, shops and restaurants on the lower floor.The layout of Winter Park has two separate bases being Winter Park Village and Mary Jane with the town located a few miles down the road.

The town still has a raw,friendly local feel to it reminiscent of the old rail way days. In the 1900’s when Moffat Tunnel was opened this allowed hardy skiers to take the train and stay in old shacks that were built for the railroad crews.

Winter Park Resort has completed a major expansion and development. The new base village, complete with a state-of-the-art Village Cabriolet, features three restaurants, an old-fashioned soda fountain and creperie, expanding retail offerings including Shirt of my Back, 200 new condominium units in Fraser Crossing and Founders Pointe, 14 Village Lofts, a central pond, ice skating, an event gazebo, and a multi-level parking structure, all located within steps of base area chairlifts. Combine that with the dining and retail options in Zephyr Mountain Lodge and you will find plenty to entertain, day or night.
