Vail is located 100 miles (160 km) west of Denver, 140 miles (230 km) east of Grand Junction and is easily accessible via the Eagle County Regional Airport, located 35 miles (56 km) to the west - all along the Interstate 70 corridor.

Terrain Parks
There are four terrain parks spread throughout Vail Resort.
If you are new to the parks best to head to
Bwana Park in Lionshead and
Hunky Dory Park off Chair 3 in Mid-Vail with a variety of smaller jumps and low to the ground rails. Check out Chaos Canyon under Mid Vail Lodge, off Lions Way this is a fun adventure and terrain park for the children or those reliving their youth.
The Golden Park Terrain Park starts of with a 425 ft superpipe so you can hit the massive pipe in succession with the tabletops in one run. Below the kickers is the rail park with more jumps and table tops. The rails are for suited for experienced riders. For more intermediate riders try Mule Skinner Terrain Park which is on an adjacent trail and includes smaller features that are less intimidating the advanced park.
Mountain Tours
Complimentary mountain tours let your group join a knowledgeable guide for an orientation tour designed to introduce the vast terrain and amenities of Vail Mountain.
The 2-2 .5 hour tour departs daily at
9:15 a.m. from Lionshead, Vail Village and Golden Peak.
You must be at an intermediate level to join the groups.
On Mountain Dining
Belles Camp Blue Sky Basin - At the top of Sky Line and Earls Express Chairlifts this rustic cabin offers sandwiches, hot chocolate, sodas and quick to eat snacks. Outside you will find bbqs to cook your own food and picnic tables and chairs. This is a relaxing and friendly cabin to refuel at.
Two Elk Lodge - Located at the top and between the Teacup and Orient Express Lifts on the front side is the Two Elk Lodge offering gourmet cafeteria style food ranging from salad bars, hamburgers, wraps, gourmet pizza to name just a few. Enjoy the views under the covered deck outside.
Buffalo's Restaurant (Patrol Headquarters) - You will find this a great spot to stop at before heading to the Back Bowls. Situated at the top of Northwoods and Mountaintop Express chairs from the front of the mountain and at the top of High Noon chair from the back of the mountain. Great for hot drinks, bread bowls filled with chili or hot soup, sandwiches and pizza.
Wildwood Restaurant - Head to the top of Wildwood and Game Creek Express lifts if you like barbeques then this is the place to enjoy smokehouse style food. Wildwood is separated in to the Pavilion and the Smokehouse, both offering a great place to eat barbequed cuisine, sweets and soups.
Mid - Vail Restaurant - At the top of the Vista Bahn Express Lift has a selection of food with 4 restaurants to choose from.
Eagles Nest - Located at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola this is one of the largest facilities with an outdoor barbeque, a coffee house, full service cafeteria and casual sit down restaurant.
Game Creek Restaurant - Renowned for its fabulous view, Game Creek features a fusion of an American-French style of cooking with regional and seasonal ingredients. The result is a spectacular menu of contemporary dishes you won't soon forget, complemented by an extensive wine list and superior service. More than simply a restaurant high above Vail, Game Creek has emerged as a true culinary destination. Open Tuesday's through Saturdays - Serving food from 5:30 - 9 p.m.
Grooming
Vail prides itself on grooming at least one trail off every major chair lift to provide guests with the best possible experience every day! On average Vail grooms 1,300 -1,600acres of terrain per night!
Grab a daily grooming report at the base areas of Vail Mountain, or check the electronic message boards at the top of each chairlift, look for the directional signs to the runs and check to see if they have "groomed" next to the name of the run or watch TV 8 for the latest up dates on groomed runs.
