Telluride Village Info
On The MountainOn the west side beginners can head to Prospect Bowl and enjoy the 2 mile long gentle trails. The terrain around Lift 10 is all about easy skiing and snowboarding as is the 4.6 mile long Galloping Goose trail that winds its way gently from the top of Lift 12 all the way down to Big Billie's Restaurant. Intermediates will love the linking corduroy cruisers across the entire resort, See Forever is over 3 miles long and has beautiful views across the mountains. As well as the groomed trails, intermediates can enjoy some of the treed terrain, gentle moguls and easy chutes around Lift 5. On the east side the advanced/expert skiing and snowboarding is mainly around Lift 9 and Lift 6. Here you have steep bump runs like Kant-Mak-M and Spiral Stairs. The very steep black diamond Plunge trail descends a whopping 3,140 vertical feet from top to bottom and certainly gives a thrill. After a big dump head to the double black diamond Little Rose Trail for some deep powder turns. Heli SkiingTelluride Helitrax offers amazing heli ski day trips into the San Juan Mountains from Telluride....experience some unforgettable heli skiing. These must be pre-booked due to li Ski and Board SchoolTelluride has a huge range of lessons and programs to choose from, including private one-on-one instruction, Adult Group Lessons (including Tele-Mark if youre interested), Womens Only Weeks, and Kids Lessons for all ages. The VillageTellurides village really is the township itself, but thankfully its not too far to go! The town of Telluride is at the base of the mountain and Mountain Village is located at 9,500 feet. Both are connected by a free gondola that operates from 7 am until 12 pm enabling guests the best of both worlds, you can stay slope side in Mountain Village and spend the evenings dining in town. Attractions and ActivitiesIf youre not interested in some of the great heli-skiing and snowboarding Telluride has to offer, there are plenty of other activities ranging from snow tubing, snowmobile tours, rock climbing, mountaineering, ice skating, gliding, horse riding and dog sledding. ShoppingThe town has historic Victorian homes and museums open for exploring as well as stylish fashion boutiques, art galleries, food markets and ski and snowboard shops. Paragon Ski and Sport is the longest running store in town and provides all on mountain equipment while Alternative Edge are the snowboarding specialists. Telluride Sports have 7 different locations around town and in Mountain Village. DiningIn the evenings the picturesque town lights up and the hard decision of where to eat arises. The Cosmopolitan has been serving top regional delicious cuisine for over 20 years, The Bluepoint is a hip seafood and steak house that attracts a fun young crowd every night and La Marmotte has wonderful service and French food. For Japanese and seafood lovers Honga's Lotus Petal has a full sushi bar. While the bulk of the dining options are in the town of Telluride, Mountain Village does have some lovely restaurants. La Piazza del Villaggio has fresh pastas and wood fired pizzas accompanied by one of the finest Italian wine lists in Colorado and 9545Restaurant offers casual and fine dining. Poachers pub is great for family dining and has a really friendly fun atmosphere. NightlifeAfter dinner Fly Me to the Moon Saloon has live bands most nights and starts to fill up early, the World Famous Woodys Tavern is full of international guests and Smugglers Pub brews its own beer and stays open late. |
