Located in northwestern Colorado, 157 miles Northwest of Denver this is the land where cowboy country meets ski country Ski Town, USA. Despite being tucked away in the Northern range of Colorado it is the most conveniently accessed ski resort in the Rocky Mountains.

Terrain Park

SoBe Terrain Park is full of features for all ability levels. You'll find 11 jumps with different landings, hips, tables and mailboxes, 14 rails including a flat bar, flat-down, rainbow, S-rail and crazy double barrel. Mini-Mav is a 250-foot-long minipipe version of Mavericks with 10-foot walls for beginner riders. There's also a kids-only terrain park, the Beehive, at Rough Rider Basin.

Mavericks Superpipe is one of the longest superpipes on the continent (650 feet long, 50 feet wide and 15-foot walls with 17-foot transitions). There's a mega music system and snowmaking. A 50-foot quarter pipe finishes off the superpipe ride.
The Bashor lift serves both the Mavericks Superpipe and the SoBe Terrain Park.

Steamboat Ambassadors " Free" Mountain Tours

Friendly Ambassadors offer fun Mountain Tours every day at 10:30am.Tours are free and last about an hour and a half.Intermediate and advanced skiers and riders are welcome. Learn everything you want to know about the mountain, the resort, the Yampa Valley and its history. Just show up at the "Mountain Tour" sign at the top of the Vagabond Trail (top of the gondola) and look for the bright yellow jackets.



On Mountain Dining

Thunderhead Foodcourt " located on the third floor of Thunderhead at the base area offering a variety of lunch choices including: burgers, salad bar, pizza and snacks.

Rendezvous Foodcourt - Located halfway down High Noon, the Rendezvous Saddle offers two floors of lunch choices. The upper loft level features Mexican specialties and pizza, while the main level provides pasta, stews, salad bar, sandwiches, soups, burgers and potato bar. The Sundeck BBQ is northwest Colorado's most popular "beach" resort.

Four Points Hut - Located atop the Four Points Lift on Storm Peak, the Four Points Hut is the ideal place for a quick stop to warm up with chili, soup, hot dogs, soft drinks, draft beer, cappuccino, snacks as well as the outdoor grill on sunny days.

Gondolas Joe - This base area coffee bar offers piping hot cappuccino, hot cocoa, coffee, frozen yogurt, baked goods, soup, chili and more.

The Bear River Bar & Grill -is the ideal place for lunch or apres-ski relaxing. In the heart of Gondola Square,The Bear features indoor and outdoor seating, happy hour specials as well as live aprs-ski music throughout the season.
