Steamboat
|
"You really have to try Steamboat out one year. Seven years ago I came here and have been here ever since! After skiing most of the other Colorado resorts, none of them seem to come close if you love the deep Champagne Powder® and some of the best tree skiing. Being just a bit further from Denver there’s not the weekend crowds, so being in a lift line for more than 5 minutes is rare.
Still a ranching community it has kept its western charm, which sets it apart from every other ski resort.
But more importantly come here for the snow; take it from me, there’s nothing else quite like it!"

Resort
Arriving at Steamboat you will definitely notice that the town has a down to earth, friendly feel about it compared to other resorts in Colorado. Still an authentic ranching center it’s not uncommon to see a mix of cowboy hats and boots amongst those coming off the slopes.
With its Champagne Powder® averaging about 339” a winter – which if you have never skied or boarded in before is a must - it’s dry, light and fluffy. The terrain has 6 peaks filled with world-class groomed cruisers, bumps, steeps, open meadows, legendary trees and terrain parks including Mavericks Superpipe. With 2965 acres of terrain Steamboat is one of the largest ski resorts in Colorado.
Accommodation is either in the town or spread around the base area of the chairlifts with a good mix of condominiums and hotels. From the on mountain village there are free shuttles to the town as well as most hotel, condominiums, restaurants, grocery and entertainment locations. The ski area is located 3 miles/4.8kms southeast of downtown Steamboat Springs.
Steamboat offers you a wonderful memorable experience of a genuine Old West community in a non purpose built resort with friendly welcoming locals.
