Mammoth Mountain Village Info


"Start with champagne in the fireside lobby at Mammoth Mountain Inn (located next to the Main Lodge).Then board a luxury snow cat customized with plush seats for 12 people,while indulging in your first course of canapes.The snowcat will make its way to Parallax - Mammoth's highest fine dining spot,located mid-mountain at McCoy Station (elevation 9,630 ft.). On the Mountain

Beginners/First timers will find Chair 7 from Canyon Lodge and the Discovery Chair the best places to head to.Some nice gentle runs for beginners off Chair 7 are Hansel & Gretel that allow you to practice your turns away from the crowds.

Intermediate levels will enjoy some great cruising runs off Eagle Express Chair and the Roller Coaster #4 Chair lifts.

Advanced/Experts During weekdays the Face Lift Express # 3 has some great advanced runs to start the day with for advanced/expert abilities. A challenging expert run off the Panorama Gondola is the infamous Hangmans Hollow one of the most difficult chutes with little room for error and dotted with rocks, locals will not even attempt this chute unless there has been a good amount of snow.  



Ski and Board School

Mammoth Mountain has collected an outstanding team of professional certified instructors from around the world. Many of the instructors are so hooked on Mammoth that they have been teaching there for more than 30 years

Group and Private lessons for all abilities are available at the: Main Lodge, Canyon Lodge and Eagle Lodges.

Whether you are a beginner or an expert skier/boarder there are also available throughout the season

3 Day Camps to improve your technique or perhaps learn something new.



The Village

The Village at Mammoth has brought the Mammoth shopping experience to a whole new level!

A bustling little village that features first-class boutiques, stores and art galleries in a spectacular setting.

Whether you are staying at one of Mammoth's four day lodges or in town, the shopping options are sure to delight. You will find everything from ski and snowboard gear, Mammoth souvenirs to clothing and apparel.

There is a great selection for young and old ranging from live bands outside The Canyon Lodge,dog sledding,stories and s'mores (S'mores are graham crackers, marshmallow and chocolate - delicious!!) with Woolly by the Village fire pits,snowmobiling,Top of the Sierra Interpretive Center & Cafes located at the top of the Panorama Gondola, x-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding and tubing at local spots, ice skating, sleigh rides, Art galleries, Minaret Cinemas/Plaza Theatre, Day spas and fitness centers.Plenty to delight all ages.

Find everything you could possibly need with shops that carry the latest in clothing,equipment, accessories, souvenirs and more at one of the many mountain stores or in the village.You will find items to enhance your stay for on and - off hill performance while staying at Mammoth.



Dining

The choice is yours whether it is a snowcat ride with amazing views of the Minarets and an elegant dinner by candle light.On recommendation Lianne found Thai'd Up was great value for money.With a choice of over 50 restaurants in the Village centre at Mammoth Lakes there is plenty to choose from.A great   



Nightlife

Lively apres-ski gets under way across the parking lot from the Main Lodge at the Yodler Bar & Pub.

At the Canyon Lodge base area, try Grizzly's outdoor bar and barbecue Watch the sun go down with a drink in hand at Dry Creek Bar at the Mammoth Mountain Inn.Roberto's upstairs bar in town is a popular apres-ski hangout; enjoy cool margaritas and tacos. Whiskey Creek serves six microbrews or with five giant-screen TVs, pool, foosball, inexpensive chili and burgers, try Grumpys sports bar.
