Mammoth Mountain Mountain Info


The Town of Mammoth Lakes is located in the heart of California's Eastern Sierra Nevada mountain range in Mono County. Mammoth Lakes is about 325 miles north of Los Angeles and about the same distance east of San Francisco, and is 164 miles south of Reno, Nevada.

Terrain Parks

Drop in with the pros at The Main Park off the Thunder Bound Express Chairlift with the new Boneyard Bonanza Jumps 60 -80ft.Located off the Discovery Chair is the Disco Park a great introduction for those starting out with its low boxes and rails and mini half pipe.

The South Park is suited well for intermediate to advanced levels with hits and tables from 10ft - 40ft long Mini wall ride and Boarder X Course. Access is via Roller Coaster Express or Stump Alley Express.

If you are starting out check out The Family Fun Zone located at the New Eagle Lodge Learning Centre and at the Canyon Lodge near the Schoolyard Learning Centre this is fun for everyone. I would highly recommend taking lessons no matter what age you are.



Snow Host

Two types of tours are available at Mammoth Mountain:

Explore Mammoth Tours: are complimentary 2.5 hour tours given daily during the winter season. They are led by a Mountain Host who will guide you around Mammoth's incredible terrain. Meet at Canyon and Main Lodge super signs at 10:15am.

Winter Naturalist Tours: are where you will learn more about Mammoth's natural surroundings in the Eastern Sierra on your skis or snowboard. December through April.
Mammoth Mountain: 1.5 hour tours at 10:30am and 1:30pm Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Meet at the bottom of Stump Alley Express. Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center: Noon, Friday, Saturday and holiday Sundays. Meet at the Ski Center.



On Mountain Dining

Parallax serves lunch & Snowcat Dinners with amazing views of the Minarets located at the McCoy station with the only table service. Reservations are highly recommended.

McCoy Station Marketplace Food Court cafeteria and bakery has a large seating area located at the mid-Panorama Gondola station.Accessible to pedestrians who ride the Gondola.Steeps Bar is McCoy Station's indoor/outdoor full-service bar open during Ski Area hours. Take a break and enjoy up-front views of the action on the slopes.

In the Main Lodge area is the Yodler Bar and Pub with its fun apres-ski at a real Swiss chalet, Mountainside Grill & Dry Creek Bar. At the Main Lodge Broadway Marketplace and Tusks Bar feature fresh fare for breakfast and lunch with the best views of Main Park! Come chill out by one of the fireplaces or cozy up at Tusks Bar after a day on the hill, where appetizers are available through the evening.

At Eagle Lodge The Talons serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails.
