Mammoth Mountain

"After a very easy drive from Reno I arrived at Mammoth Mountain, a very well kept secrect in California. Little did I know that I would fall in love with this wonderful area. I am not sure what made it so enjoyable, whether it was the extensive terrain or the fabulous laid back Californian vibe that everyone seemed to have. This area has been a playground to the rich and famous from LA, and it is easy to see why with the boutique shops, vibrant nightlife, selection of restaurants and the recent new development of 5 star hotels. This is a resort that would appeal to all!!"

Resort

Like its name states "Mammoth Mountain" offers enormous variety of terrain on and off trail along with a variety of non ski activities. Mammoth has everything, steeps, wide bowls, trees, groomed runs deep powder on powder days and lots of wide runs.

Mammoth Mountain has three main base lodges Canyon and Eagle Lodges and the Village at Mammoth.

Mammoth’s altitude and location in the High Sierras helps it to average more than 30 feet of snowfall a year. With 3500 acres of skiing this makes Mammoth one of the largest ski areas in North America and offers skiing to suit all levels of skiers and boarders.

The town of Mammoth Lakes is four miles from the main base of the ski area, the accommodation that we have chosen for this season offers direct access to the mountain. The town itself has a selection of bars and restaurants. Mammoth Mountain is actually a volcano and the area is surrounded by natural hot springs.

With flights from Los Angeles to Mammoth Airport makes this one of the quickest resorts to get to in North America. This is a great resort to combine with stopovers in Los Angeles,San Franciso or combine with Heavenly Mountain for a great combination.Mammoth also retains it's snow well into the later months making this an excellent choice for late season skiing and boarding!!
