Jackson Hole Village Info

"...I had never seen snow ghosts (trees heavily covered in snow) until i did the day trip to Grand Targhee.Like its motto states "Snow from heaven not hoses" it really does live up to this. The trips go daily and there is the option of doing some AMAZING cat skiing!!!"

Sarah Headifen - Ski Traveller

On The Mountain

Beginners/First Timers - Eagles Rest and Teewinot Chairs service the beginner area which are gentle green runs.Jackson Hole is not renown for beginner terrain but taking advantage of lessons here is well worth it.

Intermediate -Take the Sweetwater Chair to the lower slope of  Casper Bowl to warm up.To the left of the gondola is Gros Ventre which is a nice wide cruisey blue run.Step up the pace on the Amphitheater which at some resorts would be classed as a Black Diamond run.

Advanced/Experts - A paradise for the advanced skiier/boarder with the left side of the tram having several bowls to explore Cheyenne Bowl,Bernies Bowl and Laramie Bowls.Something different about this resort are the backcountry gates that allow you to venture into 3,000 + acres of backcountry terrain.I would higly recommend however taking the guiding programme on offer before heading out here. Not to be forgotten is the signature run Corbet's Couloir which you may have seen in a lot of movies with the huge cliff drops.

If you head into town the Wild Sage Restaurant is a popular choice for fine dining with a great atmosphere. For those that like a casual dining option Billy's Burgers serve the best burgers in town and you usually met some interesting locals or perhaps the fun atmosphere and a selection of game is on offer at the Cadillac Grille which may be more your style.

When staying on mountain at Teton Village the nightlife can be a bit quieter than the town but not to be overlooked is The Mangy Moose which often features some great live entertainment and is the place to head to straight off the slopes.Another good apres spot to visit that has a good atmosphere is the Cascade Grill House & Spirits in Teton Mountain Lodge.

Jackson Town is more livelier and you cannot come here without visiting The Millon Dollar Cowboy Bar with its famous saddle seats.Along a similar line is The Silver Dollar Bar at The Wort Hotel with it's quirky feature of silver dollar coins in the bar - don't get fooled like i did when they ask you to pick one up.The Shady Lady Saloon at Snow King Resort can be another entertaining spot and is popular amongst the British.
