Copper Mountain Village Info

".....as I found out if you are young at heart you can have a blast in the tube park. My first thought when someone suggested heading here was of horror. I have never had so much fun and recommend taking family, friends or just take yourself and head to the base of the Super Bee Line chair lift and let the fun begin in the tube park!!"

The Village

Copper Mountain gets its name from an old Copper Mine where its remnants remain in the Copper Bowl area. Owned by Intrawest and with $500 million spent on the development of the resort and created in 1972. It is easy to see why Copper is another popular Intrawest resort with all the amenities one could need being in the main Village at Copper and a selection of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes within an easy stroll. There is a relaxed friendly feel to Copper and casually wondering around the pathways through the village allows you to genuinely enjoy this fun resort.

Attractions and Activities

Being a family resort Copper offers the Kids Night out Programme Wednesday - Saturday nights. This is where children can have fun and parents can enjoy some time out. Parents drop their children off at the Belly Button Bakery where they are supervised and entertained and given a pizza dinner. Bring back a receipt of $30 or more per child from your shopping or dinner and the baby sitting is free for the evening. There are plenty of activities to enjoy be it Smores by the fire, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, tubing, ice skating, sleigh rides or catching a free bus to Frisco, Breckenridge or the Silverthorne Outlet stores.

Shopping

Although the Village at Copper has some great shops there is even more selection and variety to be found at the Silverthorne Outlet stores or a day spent in the charming towns of Frisco (Walmart and Safeways supermarket) and Breckenridge. Buses are free on the Summit Coach to these towns from the Frisco bus station, just catch the free bus from Copper to the Frisco bus depot (approximately 15 minutes).  A taxi is a good idea too as it is much quicker, especially from the supermarket in Frisco back to Copper Mountain.
