Aspen was founded in the 1800s as a silver mining town, the ski resort was founded in 1947 with the opening of Lift-1. Aspen has retained much of that old town charm but now has one of the best apres ski atmospheres in North America. Great apres ski, shopping, restaurants, bars and cafes Aspen along with some of the best skiing in North America, a combination is very hard to beat.
