The Village
Tomamu is a purpose built resort with all the accommodation offered by Ski Traveller, ski in-ski out. The village is very easy to get around with a shuttle that runs regularly from hotel to hotel, and into the main village every 15 minutes. This area is home to the Ice Village and Polar Village where you will find a range of activities to enjoy.
Attractions and Activities
Ice Village - Experience the magical glow ofthe ice village a collection of igloo-like "snow huts" made from ice and illuminated with lights,at night and even make your own ice glasses to sip your very own cocktails.The Ice Link Cafe is a great place to enjoy a hot chocolate while skating or relax by a toasty bonfire.
Dog Sled At Night - Enjoy an exhilarating Alaskan dog sled ride at night drawn by a team of 10 huskies. Night Glow At Night - Hot Air Balloon - At night an orange glow appears and rising like the sun above the ice village a hot air balloon appears.The 5 minute ride gives you and exhilarating view over Tomamu Resort. Catskiing - Don't miss out on the opportunity to try this we would recommend booking this in advance as it get's booked out quickly.Only available on the weekends and operating from January to March this isanother great experince to add to your adventure in Japan. Heliskiing - Yes, I too was surprised to hear about the heliskiing on offer -Tomamu is one of the few resorts that is able to offer this.However this only operates from late February to March and only on the weekend.
Shopping
The resort is very limited with shopping facilities and you will tend to find that the hotels are where you generally can purchase essential items and a few souvenirs.
Dining
Tomamu offers up to twenty unique restaurants offering a selection of food from French patisserie to Japanese dishes.So depending on your mood there is a varied selection.You can even enjoy dining by the wave pool at the Viz Spa House.A lot of the food is buffet style and the Sekka in the Galleria Tower offers silver service serving up delicious French/Italian cuisine.
Nightlife
The popular choice in Tomamu is the Ice Village barat night creating a beauitful atmosphere and wonderfully unique experience. Nightlife really is not a big event here but throughout the village are vending machines where you can buy beer. This is not the cheapest option so we recommend you stock up before getting here!
