Nakiska Mountain Info
Nakiska is located in the heart of the Rockies, in the Kananaskis Country region of the Canadian province of Alberta. It is located 83 km (52 mi) from Calgary, west on Highway 1 (Trans-Canada Highway), and south on Highway 40 (Kananaskis Trail).
Terrain ParksNakiska has launched its full TELUS Terrain Park for the 2007 season. The park has a wide number of features to accommodate those just learning how to ride park features, as well as those looking to master bigger challenges. The Nakiska parks have enough variety to keep skiers and riders of all levels happy. The intermediate park, located on Homesteader, is an ideal place to warm up for the big park, located on Elbow. A section of Silver Road connects the two parks. Both parks create a nice flow of tables and rails so that experienced riders can hit almost all the features in one run. Some of the key features of the intermediate park include a fun box, rainbow rail and tables. The larger, more advanced park offers a nice line of tables for more experienced riders, including the Chaos table, which has two take offs, allowing riders to work their way up to more difficult lines. The park also features a large hip jump. Mountain ToursNakiska will make your ski holiday more enjoyable by offering Free Guided Mountain Tours, hosted by their own Snow Friends. Tours leave daily at 9:00, 10:30 and 1:30.
