On The Mountain

Beginners/First Timers will find the Pony Express carpet a great introduction to the snow. Once you are confident enough to tackle the chairlifts Catamount Chair will open up more gentle trails to explore.

Intermediate abilities will find that most all the chairs offer a good variety of terrain with the Bowl Over and Crystal Bowl being some great options.

Experts/Advanced skiers and boarders will find that Kicking Horse is the place to be! The Pioneer Chair allows you to get to some great runs try Race Place on the lower part of the slopes.
Off the gondola is where the original heli skiing use to take place head to Bowl Over try hiking Terminator Ridge and dropping in. If you are doing a hike to make sure you check the conditions with Ski Patrol as a precautionary. Most importantly play safe and have fun.




Ski and Board School

You don't need to be overwhelmed by the mountain there are lessons available from beginner packages, group full day and half days as well as private lessons.Childrens lessons are available from 3 years to 15 years.

Childcare is available at the Kicking Horse Kids Clubs (18mths -5 years).

- Guided coaching on how to adapt to changing technology such as Fat Skis and All Mountain Boards to facilitate powder,crud,varied terrain and all mountain skiing.

- You will learn how to assess and safely manage big mountain terrain with a guide,the use of avalanche equipment,how to use fat skis and powder boards as well as putting these to the test in some publically closed terrain (conditions permitting).

- Half day: 9am -12 pm or 1 - 4pm
- Full day: 9am - 4pm
- One on one instruction with your own instructor by yourself or with friends & family

The Village

There are a few shops on mountain and more downtown in Golden but coming to this area you will find there is a definite theme on outdoor clothing and equipment.


Dining

Noted as "Canadas Most Elevated Dining Experience" being the highest dining restaurant in Canada is Eagles Eye Restaurant. This award winning restaurant offers spectacular views, fabulous food and stunning architecture and all on mountain. Open seven days a week serving lunch. Dinner is only served on Friday and Saturday. Recommendations for the town of Golden are Apostoles Ristorante serving Greek cuisine, Eleven 22 with a variety of dishes and lastly The Kicking Horse Grill offering contemporary Canadian fare.




Nightlife

Not reknown for being a thriving apres ski resort you can still find some entertainment at the end of the day at the Day Lodge or on a Friday and Saturday night head to Eagles Eye Restaurant.The Local Hero Pub has apres ski specials and live entertainment, enjoy this with drop of a wee dram in front of a cozy fire.
