Resort

There certainly is something magical and grand about the tranquillity of untouched powder… you have a better sense of self, and a better appreciation for nature.

At Fernie, you don't have to go to great lengths to experience this feeling. With an average snowfall of 8.75 metres or 350 inches, a resort or cat skiing ticket can be yours to experience the steeps, trees and powder of Fernie's alpine terrain.

Fernie Alpine Resort is located in the Rocky Mountains of the British Columbia Rockies, offering some of the best skiing conditions in BC. Photographers regularly descend upon Fernie after a major snowfall to take those great magazine cover shots. Fernie is the fastest growing resort in Canada, and one of the top ten resorts in North America.

The terrain at Fernie Alpine Resort is uniquely suited to take full advantage of the abundant snow fall that cascades over the resort every year. The craggy cleft of the Lizard Range above the ski area is often likened to an open catcher's mitt. The sheer limestone faces tower above the lifts of the ski area, trapping snow-laden storms and making Fernie a must-ski on British Columbia's powder circuit.

Fernie's mountain adventure centre offers a huge variety of day or evening activities to supplement downhill skiing and riding. Choices include moonlight snowmobile tours, snowshoeing, dogsledding, sleigh rides with a cowboy dinner option, cross-country skiing, and torchlight runs.
