Banff

"Views of some of the most stunning scenery of the Rockies surround Banff town. Having lived here for six years I can assure you that there is something for everyone - THREE SKI RESORTS, free buses, heli/cat skiing, ice hockey games and apres ski to name a few!"

Sarah Headifen - Ski Traveller

Resort

Located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies and situated within a national park with breathtaking views, Banff is a great introduction to the Canadian Rockies and a gateway to some of the most beautiful scenery in Canada.

Mt Norquay is the closest of the three ski resorts, a 15 minute bus ride away, and considered the "local mountain". The terrain is more suited for intermediate to advanced levels with some challenging runs on the "Upper Lone Pine and Gun Runs".

Sunshine Village is 30 minutes away with a short gondola ride to either “Goats Eye Mountain” at the halfway station or “Sunshine Village “located at the top. The resort is spread over three mountain faces and prides itself on its abundant natural snowfall. The terrain is well suited for all levels although Goats Eye Mountain has its infamous run “Delirium Dive” where guests must have backcountry equipment and ride with a partner – this is a great way to get the adrenalin pumping.

Lastly is Lake Louise which is a 45 minute bus ride away, this is a relaxing journey with beautiful scenery often with wildlife spotted along the way. The resort is the single largest resort in Canada with runs for everyone to enjoy over four mountain faces. A great feature is that no matter what your ability there is the option of a green run down off every single chairlift so everyone can enjoy being with friends and family.

Banff is a great place to be based at with the option of taking day trips to Kicking Horse Resort and Heli skiing at Panorama Resort.

Although Banff is not a ski in ski out resort the efficient bus system and the great choice of hotels, bars, restaurants, shops and activities makes staying in Banff an excellent choice.
