Celebrate family at Sun Peaks

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

A family-friendly destination, activities are safe, easy walking distance from a variety of accommodations and most alpine trails lead right back to the village. A selection of village restaurants have kid-specific menus, or consider the ease of dining in at your condo with prepared or catered meals.

For family fun off the slopes, Sun Peaks offers a Kids Adventure Park with mini-snowmobiles and a tobogganing slope for the little ones. A lift-accessed Tube Park is located next to the village and is illuminated for hours of sliding entertainment.  Guests can also ice skate under the stars on the outdoor skating rink or head to the Sports Centre to enjoy the heated outdoor pool and hot tubs.

There is never a dull moment, with plenty of great weekly activities that run from December to the end of March. Join in the fun of a bonfire and marshmallow roast, a skating party or kid’s movie night!

Big White Wins Best for North America on an Epic Snow Day!!

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

Big White Wins Best Access out of all North American Resorts! Silver Star comes in 2nd. Silver Star was also second for Best for Families.

Few ski resorts can rival Big White for its ski convenience – virtually all the hotels and apartments in this modern, purpose-built resort are ski-in, ski-out, with the main lifts starting below village level and even the Main Street being dubbed a ski run by the resort.  The terrain suits intermediates best, and the fact that it gets a lot of snow and has a lot of trees for shelter means that it is a good place to learn to ski powder. There’s also a great area called Happy Valley with other activities such as ice skating, snowmobiling, tubing and snowshoeing, served by a gondola that works till late. It’s the snow at Big White
