Sun Peaks, BC (November 3, 2009) – Epic early-season snowfall at Sun Peaks Resort has moved up opening day to Saturday, November 14, a week ahead of schedule! And as the first resort to open in the BC Interior this winter, Sun Peaks is gearing up for a huge celebration. With the new opening day, it’s all about the number 14. The 2009-2010 Winter season begins 14 minutes early on the Sunburst Chairlift as the lift starts turning at 8:46am on Saturday, November 14. And if you’re lucky…a free or discounted lift ticket may be in the cards!

Ski jump at Steamboat Springs

Sarah on the ski jump at SteamboatSarah with her nordic skis at SteamboatHi,

My best ski holiday was in Steamboat Springs, Colorado where I discovered Nordic Ski Jump.  I am only 128cm tall and my skis were 180cm, even taller than Dad! They go really fast as there are no edges, so the only way to stop was to get to the flat bit.  You had to turn them upside down when they weren’t on, otherwise they would slide away down the hill.  It was really scary at first, but after a while it was great!
