WORKING AT A SKI RESORT in CANADA or the USA

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

It is that time of the year again when a lot of people start to look at working at ski resort overseas. It is an amazing experience and how i started my endless Winters.I get a lot of enquiries asking about “how to go about getting a job at a ski resort”.

Unfortunatley we can’t help you get the jobs but we can definitedly help get you there and find accommodation when you first arrive.

The best piece of advice i can give you is to start looking NOW!!
We will be putting together a list of addresses as they come in that you can get in contact with HR departments directly so watch our blog for updates. Some recruiters will come down to New Zealand so we will do our best to keep you up to date.

Okay thats it for now - Sarah Ski Traveller

Tivoli Lodge Vail

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

tivoli lodge vail….also wanted to add, I am lucky enough to be staying at Tivoli Lodge tonight, I have heard nothing but good things about this hotel.  I booked an extra night in Vail after the Mountain Travel Symposium just so I could stay at Tivoli Lodge and experience it for myself…..the location is one of the best in Vail, on Hanson Ranch Road, in the Golden Peak area of the village.  Nice and quiet, but still just 2 minutes walk to the centre of Vail Village.  Oh and I have heard the breakfast is very goooooood, I will report back on that tomorrow.

Last Night in Vail

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

vail’s vista bahn chair…it is snowing snowing snowing….I have just been watching CBS News/Weather and there is a ‘winter’ storm warning for tonight.  It is Wednesday the 9th of April at 8:15pm now in Vail and tonight is my last night…..I can not believe this is the last week the mountain will be open, there is just so much snow and the conditions are fantastic.  Tomorrow will be even better, I am hoping to get in a few hours before my shuttle arrives.

Sarah and I have been in Vail attending the Mountain Travel Symposium this week and we are so excited as we have some GREAT new products to add to the Ski Traveller website!!  Including Alaska -we are both looking forward to talking to you about this amazing destination, with a great resort Alyeska - with Heli & Cat skiing right from the resort.

Sarah has a new ‘love’….as some of you know she has spent the last 15 winters in Canada and the USA working in Ski Resorts….during this trip she got to experience Mammoth, in California, she LOVES this resort & can’t wait to share this with you.
